Sat 4th March 2017 – Birmingham – Come and celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Catholic Charismatic Renewal.
2017 marks the 50th Anniversary of when the current grace that we know as the Catholic Charismatic Renewal first began to flow.
It began when a small group of students on retreat at Duquesne University in the USA, began praying for, and received, a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit. This was February 1967.
It is estimated that there are now 120 million Catholics in 235 countries around the world that identify themselves with the Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement.
The Catholic Charismatic Renewal is a specific grace which has been given to the Church and successive Popes have recognised it as a move of the Spirit in our time, giving it official approval as a Lay Movement.
Pope Francis has invited the worldwide Charismatic Renewal to Rome to celebrate the Jubilee over Pentecost 2017.
In England, the National Service Committee is organising a national celebration to mark this significant Jubilee with a special event in Birmingham on Saturday 4th March 2017.
